Kathmandu, November 29
Mahendra Raya Yadav, a leader of the Madheshi Morcha, said on Tuesday they have no plans to withdraw support to the present government for now.
We still hope the government will come up with a Constitution amendment proposal, he said at a face-to-face that Reporters’ Club Nepal had organised. Yadav further said: This government will bring forth a Constitution amendment proposal. I have full faith in that. The three-point understanding that Nepali Congress and CPN-Maoist Centre had reached with Madheshi Morcha before formation of the present government remains unimplemented, Yadav said, asking all concerned to be serious about implementing the deal.
And Yadav also asked the government to register its amendment proposal without delay.
The deadline that Madheshi Morcha had given to the government for amending a Constitution amendment proposal has expired, he pointed, adding: Still, major political parties should be serious about the matter and register such a proposal on the basis of understanding.
It will be good to bring forth a proposal by reaching an understanding with all parties concerned, he said, adding: We are in favour of a proposal. Making delays in registering the proposal is pointless.
Yadav made it clear that the proposal on forming a commission for delineation of provincial boundaries is not acceptable to Madheshi Morcha. He stressed the need to sort out the matter through Constitution amendment. Yadav warned that they will launch a street-based movement in the event of delays in bringing forth the amendment proposal.
