Kathmandu, April 25
The Banke District Administration Office has imposed a lockdown in the district for one week beginning Monday midnight.
Chief District Officer Shiva Ram Gelal issued the order in this effect on Sunday.
Earlier last week, Gelal had imposed the lockdown in Nepalgunj sub-metropolitan city following the District Covid-19 Crisis Management Centre’s recommendation to control the spread of the coronavirus in the district.
Gelal says emergency services such as ambulances and grocery supplying vehicles can operate in this period also. Even pre-scheduled examinations can also take place, according to the order.
With the second wave of pandemic entering the country, Nepalgunj has become a hotspot of the infection.
