Leftist alliance to unveil official view on govt formation row

L-R: KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal

Kathmandu, December 17

The leftist alliance comprising CPN-UML and CPN-Maoist Centre is organising a press meet in Kathmandu to make its view on current political row over the formation of new government public.

The alliance has secured majority seats in recent House of Representatives elections and hence is eager to take charge of the Cabinet whereas Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has been insisting that the polls of National Assembly must be over to hand over the power. On the other hand, President Bidya Devi Bhandari has refused to issue the National Assembly ordinance as recommended by the Cabinet citing lack of political consensus and Deuba has accused the opposition alliance of trying to provoke the head of state.

In this context, UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal will make their opinions about the deadlock amidst a press meet today, according to Oli’s press coordinator Chetan Adhikari.

On the occasion, the two leaders will thank voters for their support in the polls.
