Bajura, September 6
The Sanfe-Martadi road, which connects the district headquarters with other parts of the district, has been obstructed by landslides at several locations due to incessant rainfall in Bajura.
The road is currently impassable at Jelmode, Suwakandh and various other locations within Badimalika Municipality-9 in Martadi. Police Inspector Gagan Singh Bhatta of the District Police Office said landslides have also affected Rapka in Badimalika Municipality-8 and Jadanga in Ward No. 6.
A five-member police team led by Police Assistant Inspector Laxmi Dutt Bhatt has been deployed to the affected areas. According to the District Police Office, the team is clearing the landslides with the help of a JCB excavator provided by Badimalika Municipality and the Roads Department.
However, continued rainfall has raised the risk of further landslides at other locations along the road. As a result, traffic along the Sanfe-Martadi route has been disrupted, leaving vehicles stranded.
