A woman has been found dead in mysterious circumstances in Jwagal of Lalitpur on Sunday. The victim has been identified as Rekha Sah (22), a resident of Bagmati rural municipality in the Sarlahi district.
SSP Kiran Bajracharya of the Metropolitan Police Range, Lalitpur, says Sah’s body was found hanging from a window grille by her family members. She was taken to a nearby hospital immediately, but doctors had declared her dead.
Meanwhile, Sah’s parental family has suspected the case could be murder as her husband’s family was torturing her over dowry issues.
There are, however, no external wounds and scars, DSP Deepak Bharati, who visited the site for a preliminary investigation, informs.
“Further details will come out after postmortem and additional investigation,” says SSP Bajracharya, adding the body has been taken to the Patan Hospital for postmortem.
