Kathmandu police clueless about who shot bullet at former bureaucrat’s house

Kathmandu, August 1

Police in Kathmandu are looking into the Monday case of shooting targeted at the house of a retired government undersecretary in Kalanki of Kathmandu, but they are clueless so far.

Rather they are confused after the result of a ballistic examination of the bullet came out. The bullet was found at the room of former bureaucrat Bishnu Prasad Sharma’s teenage daughter.

Investigating into the case, police had earlier found that Sharma’s neighbour Shubhankar Khanal had acquired a licence to possess a gun. Police then conducted the ballistic lab test to identify if the bullet was shot from the gun.

But the result was negative, according to SSP Uttam Raj Subedi, chief of the Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu.

Police had arrested Khanal in connection to the case, but released him later after a failure to collect any evidence to prove his involvement in the case.
