Kathmandu lockdown: Bhatbhateni manager detained for opening grocery section in the daytime

Kathmandu, June 6

Police have arrested the manager of Bhatbhateni Supermarket’s Koteshwar outlet for opening the outlet’s grocery section during the daytime also.

Imposing the lockdown in the Kathmandu valley, district administration offices have allowed the grocery shops to open until 9 am every morning only. But, during the monitoring, the supermarket’s grocery store was found open this afternoon also, hence, the manager, Sagar Gurung, has been arrested, informs Kathmandu Chief District Officer Kali Prasad Parajuli.

After receiving a tip-off, the Kathmandu District Administration Office had sent a team to Assistant CDO Uma Kanta Adhikari for monitoring this afternoon.

Meanwhile, the manager was released after making him pay a fine of Rs 400,000.*
