Chandrauta, January 4
Two persons died on the spot in a tractor accident in the Kapilvastu district of southwestern Nepal on Tuesday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Shiva Kumari Tharu (48) and Phul Kumari Tharu (16) of Buddhabhumi municipality-3 of the district, according to the Gorusinge Area Police Office.
The accident took place when the tractor (Lu 4 Ta 2402) heading to load sand and carrying labourers fell around 20 meters off the road.
Meanwhile, Balaram Sunar, Krishna BK, Sarita Tharu and Seema Tharu were injured in the incident and they are receiving treatment at different hospitals.
Police Inspector Leelaram Acharya says the tractor might have been involved in the accident due to over-speeding. Further investigation into the incident is underway, add police.
