Record-breaking climber Kami Rita Sherpa has successfully scaled Mount Everest for the 32nd time.
The 56-year-old reached the summit of the world’s highest peak today, May 17, at 10:12 AM, according to Seven Summit Treks.
Known by the nickname “Everest Man,” Kami Rita holds the world record for the most ascents of Mount Everest.
“After his 32nd successful summit, Kami Rita and his team are currently descending toward base camp,” Seven Summit Treks wrote on Facebook. “As we wish him a safe descent, preparations are underway in Kathmandu for a grand welcome.”
Kami Rita began his Everest climbing journey in 1994, and by 2026, he had achieved an unparalleled record in mountaineering. He is regarded not only as a source of national pride for Nepal but as one of the greatest icons in the global mountaineering community.
