RPP-Nepal President Kamal Thapa on Tuesday congratulated CPN-Maoist Centre Chair Prachanda on his election as Prime Minister.
‘The three-point understanding between the Nepali Congress, CPN-Maoist Centre and Madheshi parties is, in fact, a victory for erstwhile government of KP Oli.’
Thapa, who was Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister in the KP Oli-led ruling coalition, said the three-point understanding between the Nepali Congress, Centre and Madheshi parties is, in fact, a victory for erstwhile government of KP Oli.
With the Nepali Congress, Federal Alliance and some small parties by his side, Prachanda won the race for Prime Minister in which he was the lone candidate. Prachanda garnered 363 votes in his favour, whereas 210 votes went against him.
With the election for PM, the House meeting has been adjourned till 11 am, August 8.
