Chitwan, May 16
The ward number 11 of Kalika Municipality in Chitwan district is holding voting under the local level elections on Tuesday.
Polls in the ward had been postponed after CPN-Maoist Centre’s ward chairperson candidate Siphal Praja died in a lightning incident.
The Maoist party has fielded Sukaram Praja in Siphal’s place for the elections today.
The municipality has a dominant population of Chepang community. Total 247 persons have filed candidacy for 57 representatives in the municipality.
Meanwhile, vote counting is underway in other local bodies of the district.
