Kathmandu, February 4
The CK Raut-led Janamat Party says it has postponed ongoing highway-centric protests.
The party says its central executive meeting made the decision, citing recent weather forecasts of rainfall. For the next nine days, the party says it will organise local-level interaction programmes about its agenda as far as weather conditions remain favourable.
The party claims its street-centric protests have been successful.
For the past few weeks, the Janamat Party has been staging protests in various southern districts demanding fertilisers and other facilities for the farmers easily. But, some analysts claim the movement is not for the farmers but a search for his presence in the Madhes-centric politics.
