Janamat Party chairman Dr Chandra Kant (CK) Raut has been given the responsibility of spokesperson for the Progressive Front.
The front’s meeting held on Tuesday decided to hand him the spokesperson role. Raut has already issued a press statement based on this.
The front’s constituent parties have also decided not to join the government until the upcoming provincial elections.
The front includes Upendra Yadav’s Janata Samajwadi Party, Dr Chandra Kant Raut’s Janamat Party, and Prabhu Sah’s Aam Janata Party. It also includes the Nagarik Unmukti Party, Progressive Democratic Party, Nepal Federal Socialist Party, Bahujan Ekata Party, and Khambuwan Rastriya Morcha.
The front has said its objective is to unite democratic, progressive, socialist, and inclusive political forces while remaining committed to protecting Nepal’s sovereignty, national independence, territorial integrity, and national unity.
