Janakpurdham, March 7
A pedestrian died after being hit by a motorbike in Janakpurdham of the Dhanusha district in southeastern Nepal on Tuesday morning.
The victim has been identified as Ishwar Devi Raya (65), a resident of Premnagar, Karjanha municipality-7 of the neighbouring Siraha district.
DSP Bed Prasad Gautam, the Dhanusha District Police Office spokesperson, says the two-wheeler (Ja 6 Pa 2217) hit Raya while she was crossing the road at Mujeliya along the Janakpur-Dhalkebar road.
Seriously injured, she was rushed to the Provincial Hospital, where she died during treatment.
The body has been kept at the hospital for postmortem.
Police say they have arrested the motorbiker for further investigation and action.
