Janakpurdham, November 11
A woman has been brutally murdered in Dhanusha district. The victim has been identified as 62-year-old Chandrakala Devi Das of Hanspur Municipality–7, Nauwakhore.
According to Dhanusha Police Spokesperson DSP Ganesh Bam, her body was found on Monday evening about 500 meters away from her house in a nearby field, with severe injuries to her face and head inflicted by a sharp weapon.
Police said they arrested one person in connection with the case. They were informed about the incident around 9 pm and immediately reached the crime scene.
The perpetrators also looted the gold and silver jewelry the victim was wearing.
Locals said the woman had been a victim of loan sharking, and police suspect her murder may be related to that issue. Police later recovered the stolen jewelry but have not revealed who looted it.
