Nepal’s development more inclusive than India’s, China’s

The World Economic Forum (WEF) published the latest edition of Inclusive Development Index and it has put Nepal in the first position among South Asian countries.

Nepal is in the 22nd position in the list of 74 countries, which have been defined as ’emerging economies’.

Following Nepal in the South Asian region are Bangladesh (34), Sri Lanka (40), Pakistan (47), and India (62). China is in the 26th position.

Lithuania tops the chart of emerging economies.

The ranking was made on the basis of each country’s status in terms of growth and development, inclusion, and intergenerational equity and sustainability. Each parametre has four sub-themes to calculate the rankings.

Meanwhile, 30 other countries have been listed under advanced economies. Norway tops the chart heavily dominated by European countries.
