Hyundai Ioniq 5 offers an innovative take on EV design. It has ignored the traditional stylistic elements for clean lines and minimalistic structures yet flaunts a unique clamshell hood that spans the entire width. This results in the minimisation of panel gaps and gives a clean and high-tech look to the vehicle.

The front of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 features bright signature Parametric Pixels LED lights. The 256 cubic pixels maintain a unique jewel-like design on the SUV. The V-shaped front bumper incorporating distinctive hidden lights add beauty to the overall aesthetics. Similarly, the side features an auto flash door handle that enhances not only the clean look but also the aerodynamics of the vehicle. At the back, it features similar Parametric Pixels lights.

The interior of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 offers a spacious cabin, premium finish and comfortability. The SUV offers either vision or a solar roof. The sleek modular dashboard on the vehicle features two integrated displays: a 12.25” full-touch infotainment screen and a 12.25” digital cluster that displays driver-centric information. The infotainment system supports both Apple and Android with voice activation controls on some features. It also supports auto smartphone mirroring.

Since Hyundai has focused on sustainability, eco-friendly materials and nature-inspired colours are said to have been used in the build of the Hyundai Ioniq 5. Hyundai claims it has used eco-friendly fabric made from recycled PET bottles on the seats and door armrests. Similarly, the leather used in the IONIQ 5’s interior is dyed using flaxseed oil while the seat whereas headlining and carpet fabric are said to include bio components extracted from sugarcane and corn.

The dashboard, switches, steering wheel and door panels on the vehicle are said to be coated with bio paint that includes oil extractions from plants such as rape flowers and corn.

For comfortability, Hyundai Ioniq 5 features a sliding centre console, power sliding rear seats, comfort seats, multiple USB ports along with a 15W fast wireless phone charger. The SUV also features heated seats and rain-sensing wipers. There is a large 572 of boot space storage on the vehicle.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 is powered by a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a lithium-ion polymer battery with a capacity of 58 kWh. This allows the vehicle to generate a peak power of 170PS while generating a maximum torque of 350Nm. The onboard 10.5kW charger can fully charge the battery in seven hours while using a 400V charger, the battery can get 10-80% charge in 25 minutes. It only takes 18 minutes to charge the same amount if an 800V charger is used.

With a full charge, Hyundai Ioniq 5 offers a range of 375 km. It can achieve a top speed of 185 kmph and can reach from 0 to 100 in just 5.2 seconds. There is also a regenerative braking system on the vehicle. The driver can control the level of energy that the system regenerates and stores in the battery by adjusting the level of regenerative braking with the steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. The higher the level, the more the car slows and charges the battery when the driver takes the foot off the accelerator.
