Humla, November 4

Humla in Karnali province of western Nepal is witnessing snowfalls in various parts of the district since Sunday morning.

The first snowfall of the season began at around 7:00.

The snow has been experienced quite early this year in the district. Normally, snowfall used to start from December.

The snowfall has also caused a sharp fall in temperature. The mercury level in Simikot, the district headquarters, has plummeted to minus 6 degree centigrade this morning.

Meanwhile, farmers in the district have expressed concerns over ‘untimely’ snowfall as most crops are yet to be harvested. Snowfall at this point of time affects fruits farming, says resident of Simikot, Kamal Bhandari.
