Huge shakeup in Nepal Police a day before poll code took effect

Kathmandu, March 2

A day before the Election Code of Conduct took effect, Nepal Police headquarters resorted to a massive shakeup. Issuing separate notices on February 28, the headquarters informed about the transfer of 461 sub-inspectors. While one notice informed about the transfer of 218 SIs, the other was about the transfer of 243 SIs.

The headquarters also promoted 228 jawans to havaldars (constables) and installed them at their work stations. The same day, it promoted and installed 94 constables to the position of assistant sub-inspector. The same day, it deputed 44 ASIs as scene-of-crime officers.
