House meeting supposed to discuss facilities for VIPs fails to draw lawmakers, gets postponed

The Parliament meeting, which was scheduled to discuss facilities given to VIPs at 8 am on Friday, could not take place as only a handful of members from the parliamentary Good Governance and Monitoring Committee turned up for the meeting.

A sub-committee under the committee had submitted a report, pointing at misuse of state coffers in the name of providing for VIPs.

It had called the committee to give facilities to VIPs by introducing governing legislations. The meeting was put on hold due to the absence of quorum.
