House calls for complaints against SC justice nominees

L-R: Kumar Chudal and Nahakul Subedi

Kathmandu, March 17

The Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee has told the public to file complaints against Kumar Chudal and Nahakul Subedi, who have recently been nominated for the Supreme Court justices if they have any.

Earlier, the Judicial Council had nominated them for the vacant positions. Currently, they are chief judges at Patan High Court and Surkhet High Court respectively.

The laws have it that officials of constitutional bodies including the Supreme Court are appointed by the president once the committee approves them following a hearing.

Hence, a meeting of the committee held in Kathmandu on Wednesday called for complaints, beginning the procedure for the hearing.

Anyone interested can send their complaints to the committee in the next 10 days.
