Several parts of Nepal are likely to receive heavy rainfall on Tuesday, while strong winds are possible in some areas of the Tarai and Madhesh, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.
The country is currently under the influence of monsoon winds. The monsoon low-pressure line is around its average position in the east and slightly north of its average position, close to Nepal, in the west.
The weather will remain generally cloudy across the country this afternoon. Some areas of the Himalayan region are likely to receive moderate rain and snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning.
Most parts of the hilly region and some areas of the Tarai are expected to receive moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning.
Heavy rainfall is likely at one or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.
Strong winds are also possible in some areas of the Tarai in Koshi Province and Madhesh Province.
At night, some parts of the Himalayan and hilly regions are likely to receive rain and snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning.
Some areas of the Tarai in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as a few areas of Madhesh Province, are also likely to receive moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning.
