Kathmandu, July 23

After the government decided to let academic institutions conduct academic activities except for regular physical classes after mid-August, the National Examination Board is preparing to conduct final grade 12 examinations in the third and fourth week of September.

The examinations scheduled to be held in April were postponed after the government imposed the lockdown to control the coronavirus outbreak in the country. The lockdown ended this Tuesday. Following the decision, the board has set a target of conducting the exams by September end, informs the board’s Member Secretary Durga Prasad Aryal, adding, “We have sought the Ministry of Education’s approval accordingly.”

The ministry is yet to respond to the request, Aryal says, adding the board will expedite preparations after receiving approval.

Meanwhile, the board’s Vice-chairperson Chandra Mani Paudel says school buildings used as quarantine camps will be cleaned up and disinfected before the exams so that they could host the examinees.
