Kathmandu, March 23
The government has halted the export of various medical goods and equipment citing the increasing demand in the country to avoid the potential spread of the COVID-19.
The Department of Customs says the traders cannot export medicines, masks, hand sanitisers, personal protective equipment (PPE) and surgical gloves till the next notice. The department’s Director-General Suman Dahal says all customs offices have been informed about the suspension on the export of these materials.
Earlier, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies had directed the department to impose the restriction.
