The government is preparing to provide earthquake survivors with the second and third tranches of reconstruction grant at once, says the National Reconstruction Authority.

It means the survivors will receive Rs 250,000 including Rs 150,000 of the second instalment and Rs 100,000 of the third instalment together once they begin the construction of houses, according to NRA spokesperson Yam Lal Bhusal.

The survivors have already received Rs 50,000 in the first phase.

The beneficiaries should acquire a recommendation from the local governments to receive the final instalments.

The Authority hopes that with Rs 250,000 the survivors would be able to complete the on-going construction on time.

Earlier, the government has already decided that they can get an interest-free loan upto Rs 300,000 by putting the under-construction house as a collateral.
