Kathmandu/Gorkha, July 25
Police in Gorkha district of Gandaki province have reported that they found 16* kg gold hidden in a den in the district.
They say the precious yellow metal was found in the den in Khorlabeshi of Dharche rural municipality, on the northern side of the district.
Dhan Kamal Gurung, a trader of Chumanubri rural municipality, had hidden 16 pieces of gold, weighing around one kilogram each, according to police.
Chief of the District Police Office, SP Om Adhikari, however, says, “We have arrested the suspect and further investigation is underway.”
It has been learned that Gurung was arrested from Kathmandu on Thursday and police had taken him to the den to locate the gold.
The suspect and the haul are being taken to the district headquarters for further investigation.
