The 2025 Geely EX5 series, manufactured by one of China’s largest and first privately-owned automakers, Geely Holding Group, has recently entered Nepal.
Targeting the upcoming NADA Auto Show 2025, LRR Motors has introduced two Geely models: Geely EX5 Pro and Geely EX5 Max, bringing these globally acclaimed vehicles within reach of Nepali consumers shortly after their international debut. Even before their official launch, auto enthusiasts in Nepal had already begun researching these vehicles.
In terms of design, technology, battery capacity, and pricing, these models offer highly competitive advantages compared to other EVs available in Nepal. The vehicles come in five attractive color options: Snow White, Frosty Grey, Moonlight Silver, Carbon Black, and Turquoise Green.
Both models are equipped with a 60.2 kWh LFP short-blade battery, known for superior safety, energy density, efficiency, and sustainability compared to conventional short-blade batteries.
The battery, manufactured in-house by Geely Holding Group, has passed eight needle tests and is the world’s first waterproof, fireproof, and bulletproof battery, making it the first of its kind. With a lifespan of 3,500 charge cycles (approximately 1 million kilometers or 50 years), it surpasses all other currently available batteries. Additionally, the official importer, LRR Motors, is offering an 8-year or 200,000 km battery warranty on Geely vehicles.
The 160 kW (215 horsepower) motor in both models can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.9 seconds.
According to CLTC testing, the vehicles provide a range of 530 km, and according to WLTP standards, 430 km, adequate for Nepal’s geographic terrain.
Striking design and interior
The exterior of the Geely VHX series features a modern aerodynamic profile with LED headlights, taillights, and an attractive front grille.
Inside, it boasts a 15.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.2-inch digital cluster, wireless charging, voice command, panoramic sunroof, and five-level seat adjustment.
Additional luxury features include a head-up display, heated, ventilated, and massaging seats, and a premium sound system, offering a luxury experience for customers.
Advanced technology and competitive pricing
Both models are equipped with six airbags, ABS, EBD, ESC, AEB, blind spot monitoring, hill assist, and other safety features.
Geely has also integrated its proprietary Aithma Auto OS – Smart Cockpit Operating System, which enables a smart dashboard and OTA updates.
Both the EX5 Pro and EX5 Max offer smart UI integration and the ability to control vehicle functions via a mobile app.
For the Nepali market, the EX5 Pro is priced at Rs 5.8 million, and the EX Max at Rs 6.8 million. However, considering the preferences and affordability of Nepali consumers, the company has announced special promotional offers during the upcoming NADA Auto Show.
