Geely Auto Group has set a new record with the sales of its all-electric SUV, the Geely EX5, surpassing 210,000 units since its launch. This achievement underscores the EX5’s growing popularity as one of the most successful new-energy SUVs in its class.
In its home market, the EX5 made over 100,000 cumulative deliveries within just seven months of launch. A July 2025 report confirmed that sales had reached 150,000 units, with monthly deliveries averaging over 10,000 units. The model has since gained strong traction in international markets, with presence in 26 countries, including Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, several European nations, and parts of Latin America.
In the first half of the year, the company sold 1.4 million vehicles, a 47% year-on-year increase, and raised its annual target from 2.71 million to 3 million units.
Due to the growing interest and overwhelming queries, the authorized importer of Geely EX5 for Nepal, LRR Motors has already announced its plan to expand the dealership showrooms across the country.
International recognition and applauds
The EX5 became the first Geely model to secure five-star safety ratings from both Euro NCAP and ANCAP (Australasian New Car Assessment Program) in 2025.
Built on Geely’s advanced GEA architecture, the EX5 features a high-strength body structure and a “Cloverleaf” energy-dissipation design that enhances crash protection.
Complementing its safety accolades, the EX5 also received the prestigious Red Dot Design Award (2025).
“Surpassing 210,000 global sales within such a short timeframe reflects the strong market confidence in the EX5 and Geely’s capability to deliver globally competitive electric vehicles,” said a Geely Auto spokesperson. “With its cutting-edge safety, design, and intelligent features, the EX5 continues to lead the transition toward smarter and greener mobility worldwide.”
Looking ahead, Geely Auto aims to further expand its presence across key markets including Brazil, Poland, the United Kingdom, Italy, and the Hong Kong Region, while accelerating its new energy transformation and global production network.
