Former minister and NCP leader Bamdev Gautam has dropped his plan to trigger a by-election in Kathmandu-7 and make is way to Parliament.
According to party sources, Gautam decided to drop the plan after he was criticised by the public and the members of the party for forcing Kathmandu-7 lawmaker Rambir Manandhar to step down.
Sources say that Gautam consulted with Prime Minister KP Oli and other senior leaders and after he found to them uninterested, gave up the whole plan.
