Kathmandu, December 3
Police say on Sunday that they have arrested the alleged mastermind of murder of construction entrepreneur Sharad Kumar Gauchan.
Samir Man Singh Basnyat, 32, was arrested by a team deployed from the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police. Police paraded him amidst a press meet in Kathmandu today.
Police claim Basnyat was involved in a couple of previous criminal cases including the murder of CPN-UML youth leader in Rupandehi district, Durga Tiwari.
Police have already arrested nine persons in connection with the case.
Gauchan was murdered in Naya Baneshwor of Kathmandu on October 9.
Responding to demands of the family and construction fraternity, the government has already decided to declare him a martyr.
