Ganga Maya Adhikari to Health Minister Gagan Thapa: Help bring killers of my son to justice

Gangamaya

Kathmandu, September 1

Ganga Maya Adhikari, who has been staging a hunger strike for 18 days seeking punishment for murderers of his son Krishna Prasad Adhikari, has asked Minister for Health Gagan Thapa to convey her demands to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.

She made this request when Thapa, during his inspection of Nepal’s oldest hospital, Bir Hospital, took time to talk to her.

Her son Krishna was killed during the decade-long Maoist insurgency. Her husband Nanda Prasad Adhikari died in course of a hunger strike staged to press for legal action against the killers. Ganga Maya had broken her fast after then KP Oli government initiated investigation into the case, only to resume the fast after CPN-Maoist Centre Chair Prachanda became prime minister.
