Four members of a family found dead in Rupandehi

Four members of a family in Rupandehi district died after a wall of sacks fell upon them while they were asleep on Wednesday night.

The deceased include Sahjaad Hussain (30), his wife Saddhab Khatun (28), their son Sultan Raja (6,) and daughter Sahina Khatun (2). They were inside a room of their house, in Gallamandi Piparhiya in Siddhartha Nagar municipality-6.

The sacks were stacked against the wall on all three sides and they had slept in a narrow space in between on Wednesday. All four were found dead the next morning.

The family had been collecting sacks and mending them to sell them, to earn the living. It is said that the family died of suffocation after the sacks fell on them.

According to police, the family of four were originally from Bihar of India and were working and residing in Rupandehi for the past two decades.

Police say the bodies are kept at Bhim Hospital in Bhairahawa for post-mortem. They are investigating further into the case.
