Former CAN president Shah no more

Former CAN chief and national cricketer Jay Kumar Nath Shah passed away on Wednesday morning, doctors involved in his treatment said.

Shah, who was admitted to Norvic Hospital on August 31 following a head injury, had been receiving treatment at the hospital’s CCU. He was 89.

Shah was president of CAN from 1965-2005, the longest-serving chief in the association’s history.

According to the hospital, he was being treated by neurologist Dr Pankaj and neurosurgeon Rajeev Jha after he was brought in with a head injury he suffered after falling down in his home in Kathmandu.

Meanwhile, CAN, in a statement on Wednesday has condoled Shah’s death.
