Foreign Minister inspects Nepali Consulate General in Lhasa

Lhasa, May 1

Foreign Minister Pradip Kumar Gyawali inspected the under-construction building of the Nepali Consulate General in Lhasa on Wednesday.

Consul General Govinda Bahadur Karki and the construction company officials informed the minister of the ongoing construction work. The building is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 365 million with grant assistance of the government of Tibet Autonomous Region.

The foundation stone for the building was laid by Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara during a visit to Lhasa in September 2018.

Foreign Minister Gyawali also visited the temporary office of the Nepali mission presently running from the Tibet Hotel premises in Beijing West Road.

President Bidya Devo Bhandari also visited the premises on Tuesday.
