Kathmandu, August 7

Former prime minister and CPN-UML President, KP Sharma Oli, said on Sunday foreign meddling in national politics is unacceptable.

He said this during talks with India’s Ambassador to Nepal, Ranjit Rae, at the UML party office in Dhumbarahi.

On more than one occasions, Oli has pointed that India has played a key role in the collapse of his government. He has indicated that the ruling alliance comprising the Nepali Congress and the CPN-Maoist Centre is the handiwork of India.

Bishnu Rijal, secretary of the UML’s Publicity Department, said: Latest political developments and contemporary Nepal-India relations figured in the talks between Oli and Indian ambassador.

At the meeting, UML President Oli said his party was in favour of maintaining friendly relations with neighbours.

But, Oli said, meddling in Nepal’s internal politics is unacceptable.

Conspiracies complicate the situation, so all should be aware of them, Rijal issued a press release quoting Oli.

This is the first time Rae has met Oli after he resigned as PM.

Wu Chuntai, ambassador of China to Nepal, had met Oli at his residence in Balkot after he stepped down.
