Kathmandu, August 2
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority says it recently arrested five traffic police personnel on the charge of bribery.
Tej Prasad Bhattarai, Bhakta Bahadur Hayu, Gyan Bahadur Lamgade, Hari Chandra Baniya and Ram Hari Manandhar were arrested on the charge of receiving bribe from tipper operators in different places of Kavre district.
The commission says they received Rs 2,000 from each sand-laden tipper coming to Kathmandu from Melamchi of Sindhupalchok.
A CIAA team had gone to Kavre to arrest them based on a tip-off.
