Five killed in Parvat landslide

Five persons have been killed after being buried in a landslide in Kusma, the Parvat district headquarters, in western Nepal on Saturday night.

Whereas bodies of three persons had been recovered from the incident site in Kusma municipality-3, two additional bodies were dug out this morning, Police Inspector Buddhi Subedi at the District Police Office told Onlinekhabar.

The victims have been identified as Tul Bahadur Thapa (55), Min Kumari Thapa (51), Bibasa Thapa (8), Deepa Thapa (13), and Kamala BK (35).

The death toll may rise as four minors aged between seven and 16 years are still missing. Personnel of Nepal Army, Nepal Police, and Armed Police Force have been mobilised in the search.

The region was hit by heavy rainfall last night.
