Kathmandu, December 20
The Federal Parliament is beginning the new session of Parliament on Friday. President Bidya Devi Bhandari, upon a recommendation from the Cabinet, has summoned the fifth session to begin from this afternoon.
Both houses–the House of Representatives and the National Assembly–will have their meetings today. Whereas National Assembly chairman Ganesh Prasad Timilsina will chair the Upper House, deputy speaker Shiva Maya Tumbahamphe will chair the Lower House.
In the beginning, both of them will read out a letter sent by the President’s Office about summoning the session.
Meanwhile, the National Assembly has already finalised agenda for the meeting today. The House of Representatives is yet to finalise the Friday business. Deputy speaker Tumbahamphe has called a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee for 1 pm today to finalise the list.
