Federal Alliance Nepal holding its meeting in Kathmandu, set to announce fresh protests

Federal-Alliance (3)Kathmandu, May 27

The Federal Alliance is conducting a two-day meeting from Friday to review its movement and discuss new programmes.

The meeting taking place at FA headquarters will review its capital-centric movement and discuss preparations for the second phase of the movement.

After concluding the capital-centric stir on Thursday, the FA will organise protests on May 29 and May 30 in Birgunj and Pokhara.

The alliance plans to launch a new phase of movement from May 31.

It has put on hold its plan to encircle Singhadurbar, the government secretariat, and the Prime Minister’s Official Residence. It has been organising protests in other parts of the Capital instead.

Amid all this, the KP Oli government has invited the United Democratic Madheshi Front for talks. Friday’s meeting will discuss differences regarding the invite within the FA. The UDMF, a partner in the FA, has turned down the government invite for talks. FA had not taken shape when the UDMF launched its movement.
