The main opposition Nepali Congress party’s chief Sher Bahadur Deuba went to the Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular and Transplant Centre in Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital on Wednesday afternoon to meet Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

Oli is in the hospital since Tuesday. He was diagnosed with appendicitis and underwent an operation yesterday. He is said to be recovering.

Deuba, however, could not meet Oli as he is still in the intensive care unit. Doctors have barred everyone from meeting the prime minister.

“Deuba hence met the prime minister’s doctors and his chief advisor Bishnu Rimal. He asked them about the prime minister’s health,” Oli’s press advisor Surya Thapa says.

Thapa says Oli managed to sit in a chair for around 30 years and drink a cup of black tea today.
