Notorious gangster Deepak Manange, who has been elected a provincial assembly member from Manang ‘B’ with the CPN-UML support, has skipped the ceremony of taking oath of office and secrecy in Pokhara today.
Recently, the Supreme Court has upheld a five-year-old verdict of Patan Appellate Court, sending Manange to jail for five years on a murder attempt charge. Therefore, legal questions have been raised against his position, and it is expected that the Supreme Court’s Constitutional Bench will give a verdict in this regard.
Meanwhile, other members of Province 4 Assembly were sworn in by Province Chief Baburam Kunwar in Pokhara today.
