Kathmandu, October 22
The ruling Nepal Communist Party’s executive chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has refuted media reports that said he met India’s foreign intelligence agency, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) chief Samanta Goel on Wednesday.
Dahal’s press coordinator Bishnu Sapkota says Dahal has not met Goel. Further, Ram Prasad Sapkota, the chairperson of the party’s youth wing, who met Dahal this morning, says the party chairman was unaware of the visit.
“He is still trying to verify if the Indian official was really in Kathmandu.”
Meanwhile, some leaders close to Dahal comment that another chairman of the party, Prime Minister Kp Sharma Oli, invited Goel to Kathmandu without consulting Dahal and the party.
Goel, who arrived in Kathmandu on Wednesday afternoon, returned to New Delhi on Thursday morning.
