Dahal points out six weaknesses of govt

Pushpa Kamal Dahal

Kathmandu, January 30

The executive chairman of the ruling Nepal Communist Party, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, has pointed out six weaknesses of the current government led by the party’s chairman KP Sharma Oli.

In his political report tabled at the party’s ongoing central committee meeting, Dahal said the government failed to implement some acts necessary to implement the federal constitution on time. Likewise, mentioning the controversy over the Guthi Bill, the former prime minister also complained that the government did not consult stakeholders in preparing key bills.

Similarly, key constitutional appointments had been delayed, Dahal said, adding the government could make such appointments more inclusive, proportional and balanced.

Dahal reported that the citizens, in general, could not feel any progress in good governance, corruption control and social security. He suggested the government could also prioritise small activities that could show results immediately. He said the government should make the next fiscal year’s budget plan more balanced and popular.
