CPN-Maoist Centre expels lawmaker for breaching party directive

Kathmandu, May 3

The ruling CPN-Maoist Centre has expelled its lawmaker Yogendra Ghising from the general membership of the party accusing him of breaching party directives.

He was elected to Parliament under the Proportional Representation category.

A meeting of the party’s Lalitpur District Committee made the decision after he was found promoting rival candidacies for local level elections in various rural municipalities of the district, CPN-MC Lalitpur Coordinator Raj Kaji Maharjan informed Onlinekhabar.

He was a member of the party’s Lalitpur District Committee.

“After the district committee has taken action against him,” Maharjan informed, “The Chief Whip of the party will take an appropriate decision [to expel him from Parliament].”
