Kathmandu, April 4

The Patan High Court has ordered cinema halls in the country to not show Prasad 2, scheduled for release this Friday, until the next order.

Responding to a writ petition filed by Keshav Pandey against the film producer Shuvash Thapa, a single bench of Judge Sudarshan Raj Pandey issued an interim order against the release schedule.

The next hearing of the case has been scheduled for coming Sunday, according to the court spokesperson Mandira Shahi.

Earlier Keshav Pandey had gone to the Film Development Board asking it to not allow the film’s release. However, after the board did not register his complaint, he went to court.

The petitioner, who was reported to be one of the producers earlier, has been claiming Thapa defrauded him of money.

Meanwhile, the police have also received a warrant to arrest Thapa on a banking offence charge. He is on the run.

Prasad 2 is a sequel to a popular 2018 film, Prasad.
