Kathmandu, August 4

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority on Sunday filed a corruption case at the Special Court against the Vice-Chancellor of BK Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Raj Kumar Rauniyar, on the charge of corruption.

The anti-corruption constitutional body has said Rauniyar received Rs 12.8 million in bribe from contractors who won contracts to construct hostel and pharmacy building at the institute.

Earlier, the commission had received a complaint against Rauniyar claiming he received bribe from Sushil Kumar Jha from Gina Construction Company. The complainant had also submitted an audio record of the deal.

Meanwhile, the commission also filed another case against Rauniyar’s nephew, Ram Hari, who also works at the institute, on a similar charge. He has been accused of receiving Rs 800,000 bribe.
