Congress calls emergency Central Executive Committee meeting to discuss floods

Kathmandu, August 13

Ruling Nepali Congress has called an emergency meeting of the party’s Central Executive Committee meeting this afternoon to discuss losses and damages caused by recent floods and landslides in various parts of the country.

The meeting is also expected to announce some programmes to help the victims.

Prime Minister and party President Sher Bahadur Deuba called the meeting of party’s powerful body for 4 pm today after the party’s senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel urged him to do something at the earliest to address the recent crisis, says a NC Central Office Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel.

The meeting shall take place at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar.
