Province 2 Chief Minister Lalbabu Raut has expressed concerns over increasing malnutrition in his province. He says poverty and lack of education result in malnutrition, hence awareness-raising campaigns are needed to fight against it.
Speaking at a function organised in Janakpurdham on Thursday, Raut said all stakeholders should work unitedly to eradicate malnutrition. He urged the stakeholders to introduce awareness-raising campaigns in the province.
Further, governments at local, provincial and federal levels should cooperate with each other to effectively address the problem, he said. “The provincial government is committed to introducing necessary laws and programmes to eradicate malnutrition in cooperation with three tiers of government,” Raut added.
