Kathmandu, June 14

Controversial secession advocate CK Raut has said he supports the Rastriya Janata Party Nepal’s decision to boycott the second phase of local level elections scheduled for June 28.

Raut has written a letter to the RJPN leader Mahantha Thakur to appreciate the decision of his party.

In the letter written in Hindi language, Raut has suggested that the RJPN cadres can also choose to cast votes and make them invalid instead of actively or passively boycotting the elections.

Raut has argued that if the maximum number of votes became invalid, the entire elections could be deemed invalid.

Meanwhile, a source says the Ministry of Home Affairs has got a copy of the letter and discussed it.
