Kathmandu, August 29
China has decided to host an outreach on the sidelines of BRICS Summit scheduled for September first week.
The group of emerging economies including Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa had the tradition of organising an outreach on the sidelines of the Summit since the ninth gala hosted by South Africa in 2015. Neighbouring African countries were invited to the 2015 function.
India had organised the eighth Summit last year and it had invited Nepal among South and Southeast Asian countries united in BIMSTEC for the outreach summit.
Nepal’s then Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal had attended the event in Goa. His joint meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Indian PM Narendra Modi had created a stir in the media then.
